When we begin to realize how intense the power of our thoughts are and how directly related they are to our feelings and therefore anxiety, happiness, negativity, positivity etc. it's like discovering a free one way ticket onto the train of personal power and life creation. Being able to name our emotions and identify the reasons for our feelings is fundamental to managing our mental health, worry and stress both positively and healthily. Thought watching is literally taking ourselves nearly outside of ourselves as if we were another person and watching the thoughts that we are thinking. What I've been doing is when I feel anxious, worry, stress and even excitement or overwhelming happiness, I sometimes stop and observe the thoughts that I have and identify which has ones are creating what emotion. I would recommend not trying to force change these thoughts at first because developing the thought observing you takes time and patience. Try and make a conscious effort today to look at the thoughts you are thinking and what emotions follow them.
