It is from finding peace within ourselves that we can see peace in the world around us. When our mind stops its restless thinking, the peace and happiness that are always within are released, but since our mind is not trained to stay in this state, thoughts, desires and worries soon cover our consciousness, and we are out of this delightful state. Simple mindful or meditation techniques can help us access this peaceful state. With one small step at a time, one small focus on a simple sound, one alert look at a single object, is in itself - mindfulness.
When we begin on a journey inward, a voyage to find out who we really are, we have no idea where we are going to end up or how we're even going to get there.
Even when we do set off on our personal voyage within, we can get so tied up in our 'journeys' that we can lose touch with why we are taking all these journeys to begin with.
What is it all for? This information is available only from you- deep down.
Before we can embark on any mission outward we must first get in touch with our own true selves.
We must find out who we are, what our purpose is, and why we must go there.
